  Born in Indiana, Beresford has been working as an artist for most of the time since then. Anne Beresford's work is in the permanent collections of The Art Gallery of Ontario, The Houghton Rare Book Library, Harvard University, Boston College, Hampshire College, University of Michigan, The New York Public Library and the University Museum of Contemporary Art, Amherst.

She has exhibited widely at such venues as the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba, the University Museum of Contemporary Art, UMass (Amherst), The International Print Center, NY, NY. She is the recipient of a MacDowell Colony Fellowship. In addition to painting, drawing, printmaking etc etc, she has been a professional actor, performing with The American National Theater Co., The Kennedy Center, Washington D.C. and The Cornerstone Theater Co, L.A. among others.

Beresford has taught at the Bow and Arrow Press (Book Arts) in Cambridge, MA, at the Art Institute of Boston, Zea Mays Printmaking & as an Assistant Professor in the Visual & Environmental Studies Department at Harvard University. She holds an MA from New York University and a BA from Harvard University.
